Responsibilities
At
first, you would be:
- Working closely with
the team to get a full understanding of our products, APIs, and the
infrastructure that sustains them
- Getting comfortable
with the code bases and environments by debugging issues, working on bug
fixes, and building new features
As
you get settled, you would begin to:
- Strategic vision: Drive the
team's long-term technical vision and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Team Leadership and alignment:
Inspire and lead the global technical team, ensuring alignment on priorities,
resolving conflicts, and fostering team collaboration and adherence to the
company’s culture.
- Coaching, mentoring and performance management: Coach
the team to improve their technical skills through PR and pair programming;
provide constructive feedback and help individual members grow in their
careers.
- Upholding and ensuring quality:
Uphold quality and consistency of code, testing, documentation, etc. as well as
the quality of any deliverables as they are developed.
- Building and maintaining front-end and back-end
systems: Work with the team to build out new products and
features; Take a hands-on role in writing, reviewing, and maintaining code
for responsive front-end applications using React/TypeScript and scalable,
secure back-end services using Python/Django and AWS (e.g., Lambda functions).
Lead by example to set coding standards and ensure best practices are followed.
- Architectural contributions: Contribute
to architectural designs; Guiding the architecture of any new products or
features as they are conceived in a way that lends itself both to stability and
flexibility
- Involvement in project lifecycles:
Contribute throughout our projects’ lifecycle, specifying time estimates,
gathering requirements, and setting expectations
- Maintaining projects: Includes
debugging and addressing infrastructure issues
- Ideating on improvements: Ideating on
ways to improve/advance the product(s) or service(s) alongside team members
- Resource planning: Assisting with
planning and resource allocation to meet deadlines and project needs.
