Specialist I, IT Asset Management

The target hiring range for this position is $26.92-$30.29 hourly.


Position Summary:

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Specialist role collaborates with internal clients and external vendors across all College functions. This role is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of Nightingale College’s IT Asset Management program. The ITAM Specialist is a key component in identifying and mitigating risks to the IT environment related to the hardware and software lifecycles, ensuring that the hardware and software needs of the organization are met, and maintaining ITAM processes to ensure operations run smoothly as the organization grows.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain hardware and software inventories via FreshService ITSM platform.
  • Collaborate with IT Support Specialists (Help Desk) to ensure the fulfillment of hardware and software requests run smoothly, with an emphasis on delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Thoroughly document work in ITSM tools to maintain transparency and provide necessary context for future research.
  • Oversee the IT hardware lifecycle, collaborate with stakeholders to validate that hardware catalog is keeping up with function requirements.
  • Oversee the IT software lifecycle, keeping apprised of changes to existing software and assisting with software deprecation in the environment.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customized hardware/software requests that deviate from standard process.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors.
  • Embrace and engage in training to further program expertise and customer service skills in order to provide ever-improving service to the organization and to advance your IT career.
  • Maintain hardware and software contracts to ensure both Nightingale and 3rd party vendors are in good standing.
  • Collaborate closely with IT Security team to identify and remediate risks to the IT environment.
  • Aid in security audits and security events.
  • Provide feedback on IT systems and processes to ensure Nightingale systems are serving its Collaborators effectively and providing value to the organization.
  • Codify standards and processes via documentation in the ITSM platform.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop new policies and processes as risks and needs are identified.
  • Contribute to project work as necessary, ensuring that this work is balanced with conventional tasks.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
    • Associates degree in technology related subject or 2-4 years of equivalent ITAM work experience.
    • Familiarity with ITIL framework required, ITILv3 or v4 certification preferred.
    • Related IT certifications are desirable.

    All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
