About the Role

OpenAI is seeking a dedicated Mobile Growth & ASO PM to boost ChatGPT’s visibility in app stores, optimize the mobile user journey, and enhance in-app conversion and monetization. This role exists to streamline the end-to-end mobile experience—from discovery to onboarding to retention—and drive meaningful, measurable growth outcomes.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Optimize App Store Presence

    • Create, maintain, and execute a roadmap of ASO strategies—testing visuals, messaging, and keywords—to boost app store discoverability and conversions.

  • Fuel Mobile User Acquisition & Monetization

    • Prioritize initiatives that enhance acquisition, drive in-app signups, and increase subscription revenue, leveraging user insights to tailor mobile marketing campaigns.

  • Analyze User Journeys

    • Dig into both qualitative and quantitative data to identify UX pain points, optimize user flows, and continuously improve feature performance.

  • Design and Execute Experiments

    • Run A/B and multivariate tests (in collaboration with data science and engineering) to validate hypotheses and refine the mobile user experience—using tools such as AppsFlyer, Mixpanel, or Firebase.

  • Leverage Mobile Analytics Tools

    • Monitor critical metrics (e.g., installs, signups, LTV) and uncover trends to help guide future optimizations.

  • Cultivate a Culture of Testing

    • Share insights, test results, and ongoing learnings to drive agile, iterative growth strategies across the organization.

  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends

    • Track evolving app store algorithms, competitor tactics, and AI industry benchmarks to keep ChatGPT’s mobile experience on the cutting edge.

  • Regularly Report on KPIs

    • Provide transparent, data-driven updates on key metrics including conversion rates, daily active users (DAUs), retention, and in-app revenue.

You might thrive in this role if you are/have:

  • Extensive experience in conversion rate optimization, mobile product management, mobile measurement/analytics, growth and monetization strategy, international growth strategy, and growth marketing.

  • Strong proficiency with analytics tools such as Google Analytics for Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AppsFlyer, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing A/B and multivariate tests with tools like Statsig, Adobe Target, Optimizely, AB Tasty, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of SEO and ASO.

  • Familiarity with mobile UX/UI design principles and experience working with MMPs.

  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly.

  • Skilled in SQL for advanced data analysis.

  • Experience in both B2B and B2C/consumer product environments.

  • A passion for AI and its potential to transform business growth and digital experiences.
