INTECON, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Workflow Manager & Scrum Master to support AFWERX’s Strategic Communications Team. This role is pivotal in managing workflow processes, prioritizing task execution, and driving Agile methodologies to ensure effective, timely, and high-quality communication product delivery. The selected candidate will coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, including communications strategists, multimedia specialists, event specialists, digital marketing experts, data analysts, and integration leads, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project execution.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Communications Workflow Manager & Scrum Master will:

  • Coordinate and manage daily workflow within the Strategic Communications Team, ensuring seamless task execution and information flow.
  • Analyze existing workflows, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Allocate personnel and resources effectively to support high-priority communications initiatives.
  • Prioritize tasks based on urgency, impact, and strategic objectives, ensuring optimal resource utilization and timely completion.
  • Manage organizational email accounts, facilitating communication requests and information flow.
  • Maintain a detailed project management system, tracking workflows, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure on-time and high-quality outputs.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders, aligning efforts with organizational goals.
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations from plans, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify risks and obstacles to workflow efficiency and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Document workflow management activities, including task assignments, resource utilization, and performance metrics, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Maintain an integrated calendar of communication initiatives, enabling proactive planning and resource allocation.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to personnel involved in workflow execution, ensuring adherence to established Agile processes and best practices.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze team performance and product delivery metrics, aligning process refinements with AFWERX’s strategic goals.
  • Promote Agile best practices, ensuring iterative progress, continuous alignment, and increased team efficiency.
  • Encourage collaboration, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that all communications efforts are integrated and strategically aligned with AFWERX priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring workflow optimization aligns with AFWERX’s evolving communication needs.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, workflow management, Agile methodologies, or a similar role within communications, marketing, or business operations.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification (preferred).
  • Strong expertise in Agile project management methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and optimize workflows, ensuring efficiency and high-impact execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying, evaluating, and resolving complex project management challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective facilitation of team collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and leadership alignment.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation, workflow tracking, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Agile task management tools, including Jira, Trello, Monday.com, Asana, or Microsoft Planner.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working efficiently under tight deadlines in high-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Experience working in a highly dispersed, remote organization, ensuring effective virtual collaboration and workflow execution.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, demonstrating strong time management skills.

Certifications and Training

Preferred certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred but not required)
  • SAFe Agile Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred but not required)

Proficiency in:

  • Agile project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Planner)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)

Security Clearance

Active Secret Clearance required, with the ability to obtain Top Secret (TS/SCI) if needed.
