POSITION TITLE: Systems Administrator
Supervised by: IT Infrastructure Team Lead (Direct)

POSITION SUMMARY. Provides and expertise for oversight over the infrastructure environment. Focus on providing delivery of the services at highest standards for both internal and external customers. This position provides expertise and supports the Infrastructure Team Lead in the coordination, implementation, and management of environmental infrastructure. This role will participate as a project resource for all planned and unplanned IT Projects.

Operations (incident, problem and change management) (*)
- Oversight of all services both internal and external (client & vendor partner).
- Support and follow escalated incidents to resolution for open incidents. Document details of the incident in knowledgebase articles for future reference
- Serves as a tier 3 escalation point for other members of the IT team.
- Administers and provides support for MediQuant Data Centers, corporate offices, and serves as a client SME for client-hosted environments.
- Anticipates, identifies, responds to, and resolves problems affecting infrastructure availability and performance.
- Supports, monitors, and reports on the services and service levels required to support and deliver an exceptional environment.
Projects (*)
- Oversees, recommends, schedules, and performs infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Assists in developing enterprise infrastructure solutions per requirements including the creation of functional requirement documents, project plans and detailed implementation plans.
- Implements new hardware and software projects and provides documentation and procedures based on requirements.
- Assist in the understanding of the unique technology requirements that exist within the business unit(s) advocating for solutions and enhancements that meet the needs of the business.
Security and Compliance (*)
- Supports infrastructure and security services.
- Oversees administration and maintenance of end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Manages updates, patches, upgrades, and code deployments to ensure system security and availability.
- Maintains and audits security systems, logs, and procedures.
- Identifies potential vulnerabilities; develops and implements mitigation strategies.
- Adheres to IT policies and procedures regarding change configuration, problem, and incident management service management functions.
Documentation and Training (*)
- Develops and documents instructions and guidelines to perform assigned functions.
- Prepares systems and application change management documentation according to IT standards.
- Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired.
- Documents procedures for work related to automated deployments (knowledge articles).
- Assists in configuration, testing, and documentation (knowledge articles)
Support the Team (*)
- Lends support in areas such as storage, network, server, and other architecture including recommendations
- Supports projects as an IT lead resource
- At the direction of Infrastructure Team Leader, leverages existing or recommends new tools to increase efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS.
Required Education and Experience:
For Government Project Assignment
- Associate degree in technical field of study and certificates in computer related field or equivalent\
- 5+ years support in computer technical support or help desk activity
- 5+ years hands-on administration of IT Infrastructure
- Knowledge with HIPAA regulations involving PHI
- Strong customer service and Information technology acumen
- Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Roles (Server, Windows, IIS, SQL Server)
- Experience with Data Center and Cloud (IaaS, Public and Private Cloud, Data Management Solutions)
For Commercial Assignment
- All of the above (Government Project Assignment) items
- Experience with Microsoft Domain Management and PowerShell Scripting (Bash and Python a plus)
- Experience with Office 365 and Collaboration Technologies
- Experience with Security Technologies (AV/Vulnerability Management, Encryption of Data (Transit/Rest), DLP, Log Analysis, Backups, DR/BCP)
- Experience with Networking (VPN, SAN/NAS, L2/L3 Switching and Routing, Hosted VoIP)
- Experience with VMware (5.5 or better) including VLAN and Enterprise Plus features
- Experience working within in a Service Organization using ITIL Framework (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in technical field of study.
- Previous experience in Hospital & Healthcare, Computer Software industries preferred.
- Experience in administration with Azure or other major cloud platforms preferred.
- Experience with Veam and NetApp knowledge is a plus.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Ability to absorb and retain information quickly – MediQuant’s software and infrastructure will frequently adjust to accommodate the needs of our employees and clients, adaptable knowledge is a must.
If assigned to a government project, incumbent will also have to obtain (with assistance from MediQuant):
- Common Access Card (CAC) and associated background check
- Complete annual government security training as needed
- Security+ Certification
- Azure Administration Certification
- Obtain ALT Token
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel. Incumbent may occasionally experience some out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
Work Environment. Employees may work from our corporate headquarters or work from home. Employees may at times be required to travel to headquarters for meetings or company events. Remote workers will be provided with a company laptop and are responsible for maintaining access to high-speed internet.
Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Authorization. In compliance with Federal employment laws, MediQuant will verify the identity and employment authorization of each person hired. MediQuant participates in the Federal E-Verify program.
Security Clearance. Must be able to pass all security clearances mandated by various government contracts as well as client hospital/healthcare security requirements. Any employee working on government projects will be required to successfully pass a government background check and receive a Common Access Card (CAC). Additionally, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a Public Trust security background investigation and must meet requirements to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) network account.
