Located in Boulder, Colorado, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) serves and participates in a collaborative community of researchers and educators who are dedicated to understanding the atmosphere -- the air around us -- and the complex processes that make up the Earth system, from the ocean floor to the Sun’s core. UCAR manages the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) on behalf of the National Science Foundation and the university community.

What You Will Do

Here is a brief outline of what one would expect to be responsible for in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains planning and promotional timelines for all UCAR conference and special function set-ups. Meets all conditions as prescribed by location maps and special instructions provided by Event services team. Moves all related furniture and/or displays as necessary.

• Delivers USPS Mail, inter-office mail and packages. Adheres to strict deadlines and accuracy requirements. Solves problems by following clearly defined procedures.

  Receives shipments, verifies and processes orders through the database, and confirms the accuracy of order compliance.

• Effectively handles heavy materials and equipment for extended periods of time. Moves heavy furniture safely for inter-office and intra-office relocations.

• Familiar with UCAR shuttle operations and serves as the backup driver as needed. 

Who We’d Love to Join Our Team

Successful candidates will ensure their application materials speak to the following criteria:

Education & Experience (Required/Desired):

• High School diploma and 3-4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• CDL is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required/Desired):

• Skill in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications. 

• Excellent customer relation skills and excellent communication skills. 

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

• Skill in setting priorities and meeting deadlines. 

• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds. 

• Ability to frequently work overtime and irregular hours.

• Driving record that satisfies UCAR driving requirements.

Desired, but not required:

• Commercial Driver’s License is desired (CDL).

• Experience driving a 20-24 ft box truck is desired.

• International Shipping experience is desired.

• Export Compliance background is desired.
