Core Duties

The Senior Data Scientist is a member of the Artificial Intelligence team and will develop prototype solutions and proof-of-concept projects that leverage state-of-the-art AI techniques, including generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, and multi-modal models. You will drive experimentation, and help the company explore innovative approaches to solve complex business problems within the insurance industry. Working with structured and unstructured data, such as PDFs and other document formats, this work will lay the foundation for transformative capabilities within the InsurTech space.

Knows the Business

Conduct advanced experiments with large structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets to identify effective solutions for real-world applications.
Lead the ideation, design, and prototyping of AI/ML solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as generative AI, large language models, and computer vision.

Leads Others

Present research outcomes, experimental results, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
Provide mentorship to junior team members and guide the technical execution of research projects.

Accountable

Stay update on the latest advancements in AI and Machine Learning to assess their applicability and integrate them into our projects.
Identify key challenges in processing structured and unstructured data (e.g. PDFs) and design innovative AI-based approaches to address them.

Team Player

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Data Science and Business Units, to align AI initiative with organizational goals.

Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience); Ph.D, preferred.
Experience in data science and AI research and leading successful projects.
Experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions across domains such as NLP, computer vision or multi-modal learning; experience in MMLs that combine text, images and other data types, preferred.
Experience with large learning models (LLMs), and transformer-based architectures, (e.g., CPT, BERT, etc.).
Experience designing and implementing solutions using generative AI technologies, preferred.
Familiar with AI applications in the insurance industry, such as document analysis, claims processing or underwriting, preferred.
Proficient in ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or Keras.
Experience with structures and unstructured data.

Working Conditions

Work from home.
Minimum internet speed of 25 mbps download and 10 mbps upload; Directly connected into modem; No satellite.
