Be part of the Portuguese landing team

In 2022, we arrived in Europe with our first technology office outside Brazil. Portugal was the country chosen to start this journey. Our landing team is located in Lisbon and will interface directly with our Brazilian team. We want to be close to the European technology ecosystem and spread our innovation DNA in the new country. This is just the beginning. We are building a global playbook and expect to expand to other countries right after Portugal.

Data Science and Machine Learning at QuintoAndar

You'll collaborate with talented individuals from various disciplines: Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and more.

We tackle problems like intelligent search and recommendation systems, enhancing customer experiences with ML (such as our GenAI-powered chatbot and automatic ticket routing), pricing and liquidity models, credit, income, and collection models, and develop a platform that allows us to create and deploy these solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and deploy machine learning systems to production. The main use cases are related search and recommendations, including genAI-powered assistants.
• Design and execute experiments.
• Analyze a wide variety of data (structured and unstructured, observational and experimental) to improve current models or create new ones;
• Participate actively in discussions and decisions regarding the whole Data Science chapter (Guilds, Design Reviews, Demos, etc.)

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• People that are seeking to deliver real impact through Data Science and Machine Learning
• Expert knowledge of machine learning concepts: regression and classification, clustering, neural networks, feature selection, cross-validation, bias-variance tradeoff, model explainability, etc.;
• Practical experience with Deep Learning, preferably in the industry;
• Good understanding of the engineering challenges to deploy machine learning systems to production;
• Proficiency in Python;
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills;
• Good English skills (verbal and written) is mandatory, as it is the official language within the team.

You'll stand out if you:

• Have a MSc. (or Undergrad + intense experience) in computer science, machine learning, data science, information retrieval, ranking systems, recommender systems, natural language processing or other relevant fields;
• Have experience with technical advice for other data scientists (technical leadership);
• Have experience building solutions with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs);
• Have experience with Information Retrieval, Search Ranking and Recommendations;
• Have experience working at fast-growing startups.
