Job description

The Business Analyst is responsible for the compilation and development of Business Requirements documents; facilitating User Acceptance Testing; maintenance and support of system files, tables, or configurations used to drive the base functionality of our applications; troubleshooting problems/issues and handling projects ranging from moderately to highly complex in nature or projects supporting corporate initiatives. The Analyst’s primary role is to support the department’s systems and staff by recommending and implementing system enhancements that promote efficiency, compliance, and growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • (25%) Compose or co-author procedure manuals, user guides, job aids, notification memos on changes to processes and procedures, and various templates and presentations. Gather and analyze data generated by various groups to assist in the production of manuals. Participate in a periodic end to end review of all manuals for consistency.
  • (25%) Responsible for updating and maintaining accurate data within the ServiceNow platform, conducting routine audits to identify and correct discrepancies, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations, generating and analyzing data quality reports, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve data issues, documenting data management processes, and providing training and support to users on data entry standards and best practices.
  • (15%) Participates in the Project Management process; understands and applies the system development methodology; contributes to project deliverables including vision documents, status reports, and project, risk, resource and financial plans; communicates status, business impacts and system changes to team members, business partners, sponsors, management and other interested parties; coordinates issues, tracking and resolution on high level, complex projects. Leads and mentor’s junior analyst with project management and system development methodology.
  • (15%) Manages testing activities for maintenance and project assignments; provides guidance for testing strategies, scope and scenarios; reviews and provides advice for testing-related estimates of effort, duration and resource utilization; prepares and reviews test plans; identifies testing risks and contributes to the overall management of project and risk plans; coordinates, manages and participates in complex testing efforts. (20%) Provides general customer and IT support for assigned business applications; deals with the most complex system problem logs; works with business and technical staff to perform effective root-cause analysis and resolution; leads implementation support activities; directs and participates in training support activities such as documentation authoring and preparation, training preparation and delivery or follow-up. Gathers, compiles, interprets and summarizes systems and business process changes; maintains system support tables.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years business analyst experience or 4 years combination of business analyst and industry experience.
  • 1-2 years of technical writing experience, and/or comparable business experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, computer science, information technology or related field
  • Project Management experience and/or Green Belt Certification or Business Analyst Certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of business applications: ServiceNow GRC and VRM modules, MS Excel 2007+, MS Word 2007+, MS Outlook 2007+, MS Project 2007+, and MS Team Foundation Server

  • Ability to coordinate system testing cycle, issues tracking and resolution.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, training and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Ability to be adaptable to a variety of project team roles, such as analyst, tester, documentation writer, trainer, team lead or mentor.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with business sponsors, business partners and technical staff.
  • High level of expertise in a variety of application and business areas.
  • Continuous learning of new skills that add value to projects and assignments.
  • Keenly analytical, able to switch effortlessly between business and technical terminology, self-motivated, able to learn quickly, able to multi task, able to meet deadlines, and has a fanatical work ethic.

Pay Range:

$63,400.00 - $105,800.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
