This individual is responsible for delivering actionable customer survey data and insights. As a Customer Experience (CX) Data Analyst, the incumbent will enable Magellan's CX strategy by supporting all CX analytic activities, making CX data accessible to all parts of the organization in clean datasets and user-friendly dashboards. In this role, incumbents will work with multiple types of healthcare customer data, designing and creating engaging, high-impact and innovative visualizations and interactive graphics to illustrate compelling analytic stories.
Query design and data preparation:
- Creates queries across multiple sources of data to aggregate datasets into a single visualization.
- Coordinates use of existing authorization, referral, credentialing, and claims information for use in sampling methodologies and analysis.
- Defines and documents data preparation procedures in line with CX Analytics team policies.
- Designs, documents, develops and deploys survey analyses and sampling frame creation using a variety of computing tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau Prep, Access, Excel).
Visualization design:
- Gathers business user requirements to develop dashboards and other analytic products.
- Applies data analytic and visualization techniques using Tableau and similar tools to develop analytic solutions to business questions.
- Conducts regular QA reviews of existing dashboards for adherence to performance and data quality standards.
Data analysis comprehensible and impactful to the business:
- Creates user friendly tools to help measure, manage, and report the effectiveness of customer experience management initiatives.
- Performs ad hoc analyses that will vary in duration and complexity.
Database design and creation:
- Supports development and maintenance of CX data tables and analytics resources.
- Works with business users to identify requirements for CX data resources and support analytics partnerships through access management.
- Conducts validation of CX data assets to ensure data currency and quality, working with other CX team members to make updates and corrections as needed.

Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in a field of study providing technical and analytic preparation required.
2+ years of relevant experience.
May consider candidates with 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Familiarity with Tableau or similar data visualization tools (Qlik Sense, Qlik View, Power BI).
Working knowledge of SQL including the ability to write queries against large data warehouses (such as SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift and understand efficient aggregation and display principles.
Understanding of data science best practices.
Experience applying visualization best practices in a business environment.
Ability to quickly learn new software applications and concepts as needed.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
