Senior Product Designers at Amplify create smart and meaningful product experiences that directly meet the needs of our young learners and their teachers, inside and outside of the classroom. As a member of Amplify’s design group you will partner with a diverse cross-functional product team of designers, product owners, developers, and curriculum experts to extend and improve Amplify’s digital curriculum.
This role is ideal for a creative and user-focused designer with a strong track record of leading design initiatives, collaborating across teams, and delivering impactful user experiences. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in interaction design, user research, and digital assessment design, coupled with a passion for improving learning experiences.
Essential Responsibilities:
Show mastery of product design and problem solving methods and processes; including user stories, wire frames, interaction flows, mockups, and quick prototypes as well as polished visual design
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore, validate and define features and contribute to the overall direction of the product.
Communicate with Design, Product, Engineering, and Program leadership on all relevant projects and updates.
Prepare and present designs for review to internal teams and key stakeholders
Conduct user research and utilize findings to validate initial designs and create rapid prototypes for iterative user testing with teachers and students
Think holistically and contribute to high-level product strategy
Participate in and conduct collaborative discussions, including listening closely and providing honest, thoughtful feedback to colleagues
Utilize strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
Facilitate workshops or collaborative design sessions
Prepare and present designs for review to internal teams and key stakeholders
Develop polished front end designs for handoff to developers
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years experience with end-to-end product design
Proficient in conducting and integrating user testing and research findings to inform design solutions, with deep understanding of how qualitative research and data inform product and design decisions
Comfortable designing and facilitating workshops with cross-functional teams to brainstorm product ideas, turning ambiguous problems into actionable design directions.
Interaction design expertise and experience collaborating with engineers
Expertise with Adobe CC, Figma, Zeplin, Notion
Experience designing desktop web experiences
Not afraid to start from hand-drawn thumbnails
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with digital product design in education technology or a related field
Experience with designing digital assessment tools or solutions, including an understanding of user needs in educational or evaluation contexts
Enthusiasm for contributing to the landscape of education
Experience blending visual and interaction design to enhance the clarity, usability, and engagement of digital experiences.
Demonstrated ability to advocate for the user while balancing business and technical considerations.
Strong capabilities in early-stage discovery and exploration to identify user needs and define problem spaces
Experience designing with Accessibility as a priority
A formal education in Interaction Design, UX, Game Design or related field
Experience with interactive motion design or games
Working knowledge of Generative AI, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
Any lived experience with teaching or tutoring students ages K-12
What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
