THE CHALLENGE

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for a high-performing, cross-functional team that delivers impactful features to our Eventbrite creators. Your role will involve driving excellence in execution, fostering career growth, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities to maximize value delivery.

THE TEAM

Eventbrite's business continues to grow and scale rapidly, powering millions of events. Event creators and attendees need to be empowered with innovative tools and technologies to enhance their experience. This team plays a critical role in shaping these experiences by developing scalable, high-quality solutions.

THE ROLE

You will partner closely with your   product counterpart to enhance the post-publish creator experience, driving improvements in sell-through rates, increasing tickets per creator, and ultimately ensuring creator success and retention. Beyond execution, you will focus on refining prioritization frameworks, maximizing efficiency, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth. Your leadership will ensure that the team consistently delivers value while maintaining a strong foundation of technical excellence.

YOU WILL
  • Lead a remote-first, cross-functional engineering team to deliver high-quality software in small, regular iterations.
  • Define and implement a strategic approach to prioritization, ensuring that work delivers the highest impact for users and the business.
  • Drive improvements in engineering processes to reduce cycle time and optimize team efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and autonomy, ensuring team members have clear visibility into how their work contributes to organizational goals.
  • Support the professional growth of engineers through mentorship, career development frameworks, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design counterparts to validate assumptions, refine requirements, and accelerate feature delivery.
  • Champion technical excellence by guiding architectural discussions, promoting best practices, and ensuring scalable solutions.
  • Work with other engineering managers to drive process innovation, cross-team collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
  • Lead hiring efforts to attract, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Maintain transparent communication with leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals, challenges, and progress.
  • Foster a team culture that values continuous improvement, innovation, and psychological safety.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability and openness.
THE SKILLSET
  • Experienced in leading, managing and inspiring cross-functional, agile engineering teams.
  • A solid technical background with a passion for delivering high quality, maintainable software following lean/agile methodologies.
  • Comfortable participating in architectural discussions, asking informative questions, and assisting the team in making strategic trade-offs.
  • Experience applying concepts like experimentation, rapid prototyping, MVP definition, user research and data driven, customer first decision making to engineering.
  • Experience working within a highly collaborative, remote-first environment, driving a team that ships code to production often.
  • The ability to recruit, onboard, grow and develop a globally-distributed engineering team
  • An understanding of build/deployment pipelines and tooling
  • An understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent facilitation skills involving the whole team in group based decision making.
