We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Associate to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have expertise in medical billing and patient collections, with a strong understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Location: Philippines (Remote) Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
Responsibilities:
Patient Collection Focus:
Patient Communication: Proactively contact patients via phone, email, or text to address outstanding balances and provide detailed explanations of billing statements.
Payment Plans: Assist patients in setting up and managing payment plans, ensuring affordability while adhering to company policies.
Dispute Resolution: Handle patient inquiries and disputes regarding billing and payments, providing clear and professional explanations to resolve issues promptly.
Follow-Up: Conduct regular follow-ups with patients regarding overdue payments, maintaining persistence while ensuring a respectful and empathetic approach.
Account Reconciliation: Review patient accounts to ensure accurate application of payments and identify discrepancies or adjustments needed.
Collections Reporting: Generate detailed reports on patient collection efforts, including success rates, outstanding balances, and challenges encountered.
Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., billing, customer service) to streamline patient collection processes and ensure all accounts are up-to-date.
Compliance: Maintain adherence to federal, state, and company regulations when handling patient accounts and sensitive information. Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in medical billing and patient collections.
Knowledge: Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, as well as familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
Technical Skills: Experience with medical billing software (e.g., ECW NextGen, or similar) and basic Microsoft Office skills.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professionalism.
