Job description

Job Brief

An opportunity to be part of a panel of communications consultants and creatives on the Australian Government’s Climate Resilient Communities program in the Indo-Pacific, covering the Pacific, Southeast Asia and South Asia regions.

About The Program

Initiated in July 2024, Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) aims to ensure people in the Indo-Pacific are more resilient to climate change and disasters.

Led by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), CRC supports implementation of Australia’s climate change commitments and International Development Policy, in line with partner government priorities. CRC incentivises funding towards inclusive climate and disaster resilience programming, with a focus on the water, food, and energy sectors. It does this by increasing climate investments, driving climate integration, and better addressing climate and disaster risk across Australia’s development portfolio.

DT Global has been engaged by DFAT to support implementation of CRC.

About The Role

CRC is recruiting communications consultants to join its Communications and Creatives Panel. Panel members will provide high quality technical and strategic communications support, advice and capacity development on climate programs across the Indo-Pacific.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience working on international development programs
  • Experience living and/or working in countries where DFAT implements development programs
  • Familiarity with DFAT requirements
  • Understanding and commitment to gender equality, disability equity and rights, social inclusion
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and management skills (early career people will be encouraged and supported to develop these skills)
  • Ability to work in teams – cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary, in person and virtually, and with diverse levels of experience
  • Proven ability to develop the capacity of others and share knowledge and learning
  • Commitment to professional development, including continuous learning and upskilling, as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant or related fields of expertise
