Job description

Our why

Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.

About the role (your why)

As a Communications Specialist at Datacom, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our internal communications strategies. You will work closely with the wider communications team to develop clear and impactful messaging that aligns with our business objectives and enhances our brand's reputation.

Your responsibilities will include crafting written content for various platforms, support with planning and executing communication campaigns, and ensuring that our internal stakeholders are informed and engaged. You will also collaborate with various departments to ensure a consistent communication approach across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support with developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively convey Datacom's vision, values, and objectives.
  • Ensure internal communications are delivered to the highest quality standard, within scope, in budget and on time.
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide communications support on key initiatives across the Datacom Group of businesses.
  • Monitor and analyse communication trends and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain Datacom’s intranet.
  • Provide communication support during crises or critical incidents, ensuring timely and transparent messaging.

What you’ll bring:

The ideal candidate for the Communications Specialist role will have a strong background in communications or marketing. You should possess excellent writing and editing skills, with an ability to adapt your style for various audiences. Three or more years’ experience working in a corporate environment and familiarity with digital communication tools such as SharePoint and MS365 products are essential.

We are looking for a proactive communicator who is comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Your ability to think creatively and strategically will help us enhance our communications efforts and achieve our business goals.

Why join us here at Datacom?

Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services. As an ANZ company, we have managed to maintain a dynamic, agile, small business feel that is often diluted in larger organisations of our size. It's our people that give Datacom its unique culture and energy that you can feel from the moment you meet with us.

At Datacom you'll be recognised and valued for your contributions. We're growing year on year and can provide stability, career opportunity and a collegial, agile, flat-structured environment that empowers people and promotes autonomy. We care about our people and provide a range of perks such as social events, chill-out spaces, remote working, flexi-hours and professional development courses to name a few. We operate at the leading edge of technology to help ANZ’s largest enterprise organisations explore possibilities and solve their greatest challenges, so you will never run out of interesting new challenges and opportunities.
