Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Analytics Engineer to join our growing team at MRO MaryRuth, LLC. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining the infrastructure that drives our data insights and measures business performance. You will work closely with stakeholders across business to create scalable, accurate, and efficient data models and processes that support analysis and reporting. You’ll be responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, ensuring data quality, and contributing to the evolution of our data stack. The Analytics Engineer will report to our Director of Analytics within the Growth department. This is a full-time, exempt, fully-remote position with a salary range of $115,000 - $125,000 USD/year.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytical needs, ensuring models and infrastructure align with business goals and drive informed decision-making.
  • Build Scalable Data Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain data models, transformations, and workflows that scale as the company grows, using tools like dbt, Tableau, Redshift, and Fivetran.
  • Focus on Data Quality: Implement testing frameworks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency across models and reports. Document technical specifications, best practices, and maintain clear communication.
  • Troubleshoot and Optimize: Proactively monitor data pipelines, diagnose issues, and fix problems to ensure that data flows smoothly and consistently across all systems
  • Improve Data Infrastructure: Continuously enhance the data foundations and analytics maturity of the organization, helping to improve the overall scalability and reliability of our data infrastructure that supports business decision-making.
  • Some travel (<5%) may be required on an as needed basis, with advance notice provided to the employee.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar technical role, with a track record of working across various business domains. Experience in eCommerce or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with modern data stack tools like dbt, Redshift, Tableau, and Fivetran is required..
  • Data Management: Experience with data quality frameworks, testing, and monitoring workflows. Ability to ensure high-quality, reliable data in all reports and models required..
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Business Acumen and Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions. Ability to understand business context and leverage technical skills, intuition, and attention to detail to solve data problems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes, best practices, and technical specifications clearly.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
