About Nava

Nava Benefits is a modern benefits brokerage on a mission to fix healthcare. Nava was founded on the vision of bringing high-quality, affordable healthcare to all Americans, starting with the 49% who receive insurance through their employers. By partnering with healthcare and benefits leaders from the country's largest companies, Nava packages their insights, tools, and best practices into a scalable, unified service offering that has helped smaller employers save 8-22% on their benefits plans.

Launched by seasoned co-founders, we're a cross-functional, passionate group of leaders and operators intent on building the industry's most diverse and dynamic place to work.

🚀 About the role

We’re seeking a dynamic Small Group Team Manager to oversee a growing multi-million-dollar book of business on our West Coast team. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead and mentor a high-performing team of Client Success professionals who manage the day-to-day servicing of small employer group accounts.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker and relationship builder with deep expertise in the California small group market, a passion for delivering innovative and creative benefit solutions to small employers, and a proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams. This individual will play an influential role in strategically planning for growth and hiring, ensuring the continued success of the team under their leadership. This position is ideal for someone passionate about combining leadership with a client-first approach to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This is a remote position but preferred candidates will be based in the California area and possess current experience owning CA Small (50-100 EE's) employer groups.

🚀 What you’ll do
  • Strategic Oversight of Book of Business: Provide comprehensive oversight of the small group client portfolio, ensuring seamless delivery of services, and driving client retention and satisfaction through innovative benefit strategies tailored to the California small group market
  • Leadership and Team Development: Inspire, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Client Managers and Benefits Analysts, fostering an environment of collaboration, professional growth, and accountability to exceed client expectations
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement efficient processes, tools, and workflows to elevate team performance and enhance client service delivery in alignment with Nava’s mission and goals
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Guide the team in designing and executing annual service plans, renewal strategies, and long-term client growth plans, leveraging deep market expertise to provide best-in-class solutions
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics to monitor book performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions that enhance team and client outcomes
  • Internal Advocacy and Communication: Serve as a key liaison to Nava’s executive leadership, effectively communicating team needs, proposing process improvements, and aligning on strategic priorities to drive overall organizational success
🚀 What you’ll bring
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in benefits consulting or a related field, with a strong background
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of the market, carriers, products, and technical solutions related to medical and Rx funding strategies
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage a team of client success professionals and lead complex client engagements
  • Client Relationship Management: Demonstrated success in building and maintaining executive-level relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to effectively present to executive-level client audiences, delegate and guide direct reports, and articulate needs, process improvements, and strategic insights to internal leadership
🚀 Working at Nava

As a remote-first company, Nava is committed to building a dynamic and inclusive culture where you have the autonomy to thrive. You’ll be supported by cutting-edge technology, a collaborative team, and a shared mission to revolutionize healthcare.

🚀 Benefits
  • Health & Wellness: Medical insurance, including a $0 premium HDHP plan for individuals, Dental, Vision, Telehealth and Virtual Primary Care Visits, OneMedical membership, Wellhub, and a $50 monthly benefit to improve your mental or physical health.
  • Financial Support: Stock options, 401(k) with a $2,000 match, FSA, HSA, and access to Origin Financial.
  • Work-Life: Flexible PTO, 12 weeks of paid parental leave with 2 weeks of transition time, $50 monthly connectivity reimbursement, and company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance, with additional voluntary benefits like supplemental life, AD&D, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness coverage.
  • Professional Support: $1,000 home office setup stipend and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We believe that solving America's healthcare problem requires leveraging America's greatest strength: our diversity. Healthcare affects everyone – and a team that includes people from all backgrounds and walks of life will be more effective at driving change than a homogeneous one. We are excited to build that kind of team at Nava.
