We're looking for a Senior Manager, Engineering to guide a talented team in building scalable solutions that drive business growth and create exceptional digital experiences for our customers. At Ritual, we believe great digital experiences are integral to any company’s success. As a key leader on our team, you'll collaborate with designers, product managers, and data analysts to continuously enhance our online experiences. What You'll Do:Lead the design, architecture, and execution of technical projects, working closely with Engineering, Product, and Data leadership.Document strategies, technical implementations, dependencies, and priorities to support team initiatives.Establish engineering processes, define company standards, identify core technologies, and address technical challenges.Build scalable solutions, leveraging conventions and prioritizing simplicity where it makes sense.Our StackOur site uses React, Gatsby, GraphQL, Ember.js, and Contentful.Our back-end is a Rails API that handles everything from account creation and payments, all the way through to fulfillment.See more here: https://stackshare.io/ritual-com/ritualWho You Are:A Leader: You have experience managing, coaching, and mentoring engineers to achieve collective success.Passionate: You’re driven to build solutions that are impactful for customers and scalable for the business.Well-Rounded: You bring experience with back-end microservices, front-end systems, API design, caching solutions, webhooks, and more.Detail Oriented: You care deeply about delivering quality work and seek opportunities for iteration and improvement.Problem Solver: You prioritize simple, effective solutions and rely on tools and testing to support your decisions.Analytical: You use data to inform decisions and guide strategies.Cross-functional Communicator: You’re comfortable diving into technical details with your team and translating them for non-technical stakeholders.What You Need:Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience is equally valued.Experience: 5+ years developing scalable web applications in a fast-paced environment with 2-3+ years in a senior or leadership role.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Ruby/Rails, with a track record of building scalable solutions.Experience with Stripe APIs and Sidekiq is a plus.A solid understanding of system design, testing, documentation, and monitoring.Preferred: Familiarity with troubleshooting at scale and guiding technology decisions as the company grows.Compensation and Benefits:Pay Range: $138,000 - $196,000Your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. The salary range represents the entire compensation range for this position. Exact compensation will depend on a number of factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, level, years of experience, technical expertise, and other qualifications. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
