The Opportunity
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Manager of Retail Compensation. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of Retail compensation plans and programs, which will attract and retain talent, drive business results, and reward employees. Participates in the development of short and long-term compensation strategies and plans to effectively address business needs and market competitiveness.
How You'll Make a Difference
Managing and overseeing Quick Lube salaried and hourly incentive plans, including field operations incentive plans. Reviews and approves incentive accrual estimates for monthly and fiscal quarter financial statements. Manages annual/quarterly incentive plan approvals and payments.
Partnering and collaborating with business leaders and HR Business Partners on compensation philosophies, programs, policies, and practices. Develops solutions for compensation-related issues.
Managing salary structure development for all U.S. and international retail locations and base pay programs, including the annual merit/market increase processes; recommends annual salary budgets and provides cost analyses.
Overseeing the analysis of market competitiveness, global job evaluations, and salary survey selection and participation.
Coordinating with HR Operations in the management of the SAP Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) system, including identification of system enhancements, testing, and incentive and pay administration.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations. Maintain an awareness of regulatory changes and the potential impact of those changes on current and future compensation requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Minimum of eight years' compensation design and administration experience within a large, multi-site retail corporation (Diversified Industrial and Retail)
- Business and sales incentive compensation design and administration
- Base pay program (salaried and hourly) design and administration, including salary structures
- Job evaluation (point factor/Hay) and market pricing
- Basic understanding of domestic and international HR processes, labor law, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and manage confidential information
- Expert/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and HR/Compensation systems
- Strong market research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong process and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills required to work with different levels of business leadership and functional teams
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation from Worldatwork preferred
- SAP HR preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
