Role Overview:
The Senior Property Tax Analyst, along with the current property tax personnel, is responsible for assigned property tax compliance under the direction of the Property Tax Manager. Also, this person will help manage relationships with external assessors, state jurisdictions, and local jurisdictions to arrive at negotiated tax values.

Main responsibilities:
Prepare and file property tax renditions and other related filings for the company’s property tax accounts
Negotiate property tax values with assessors
Evaluate property tax assessments and appeal assessments as needed
Draft memoranda detailing property tax treatment of specific transactions and their business impact
Monitor property tax legislation, and its impact on the company’s property tax position.
Assist Tax Department personnel with research
Travel to meet with assessors and view facilities
Assist with forecasting and budgeting
Assist with property tax evaluations on acquisitions and dispositions
Assist with the monthly accounting processes and property tax payment oversight
Additional duties as required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent work experience is preferred
7+ years of property tax experience in a multi-state environment, emphasis on unit appraisal methods for pipelines preferred
CMI or CPA preferred
Experience negotiating, securing and administering property tax reductions through informal and formal appeals processes
Valuation of the company’s assets using generally accepted appraisal methods
Knowledge of state and local property tax reduction and incentive programs
Must be a self-starter with good communication and organization skills
Experience managing personnel
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well within a team
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Access (Database) and Excel, is preferred.
Competency in analytical problem solving and technology expertise is preferred.
Oracle (Fusion) experience a plus
Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
