As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, and transform complex data sets into insightful visual representations that drive informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Dashboard and Report Development:

• Design and develop interactive Tableau dashboards and reports tailored to meet the needs of various business units.

• Ensure the dashboards are user-friendly, visually appealing, and provide meaningful insights into business performance.

Data Analysis and Preparation:

• Collaborate with data analysts and data engineers to understand data sources, perform data profiling, and prepare data for visualization.

• Create and optimize data extracts, calculations, and data models within Tableau.

Requirements Gathering:

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for effective reporting.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop solutions that address those needs.

Performance Optimization:

• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in internal dashboards, optimizing queries and data sources for efficiency.

• Implement best practices for dashboard design and development to ensure scalability and responsiveness.

User Training and Support:

• Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau dashboards and reporting tools, ensuring they understand how to effectively utilize the data.

• Assist users in navigating and interpreting dashboards, offering insights and recommendations based on the data.

Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of dashboards, data sources, and technical processes.

• Document and implement data governance practices to ensure data integrity and consistency.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business users, IT staff, and data scientists, to ensure alignment on data visualization goals.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team culture.

Stay Current with Tableau Features:

• Keep up to date with the latest Tableau features, enhancements, and industry best practices to continuously improve skills and solutions provided.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in data visualization and business intelligence, with a strong focus on Tableau development.

• Proficiency in Tableau Cloud, including experience with Tableau Prep for data preparation.

• Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and querying 

• Familiarity with data modeling techniques and a solid understanding of relational database concepts.

• Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with data governance and best practices in data visualization is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Tableau certification is desirable but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView, Looker) and big data technologies is a plus.

• Experience in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure) and associated data services is advantageous.
