Overview:
As the Director of Data Engineering, you will be a key member of National Debt Relief’s (NDR) Data Intelligence leadership team. This role will be pivotal in managing data infrastructure architecture and owning the NDR data model. You will lead a team of data engineers and ETL/ELT developers to implement and maintain a scalable and secure data environment and cloud data warehouse. You will be responsible for implementing a best-in-class enterprise data platform with Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT Cloud and Dagster. You will collaborate closely with analytics, BI, and data science teams to align on overall data strategy, prioritization, and the data roadmap for NDR.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and co-develop with the Data Engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for data engineering that aligns with NDR’s business objectives.
- Design, deploy, and maintain a scalable data hub and EDW architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure accurate and secure ingestion, cleaning, and curation of data from various sources into a centralized data hub and EDW via automated data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Oversee the implementation of integrated analytics platforms and EDW architectural components, including DevOps, MLOps, data confidentiality and masking, data cataloging, and data dictionary.
- Work with business stakeholders to define and standardize the NDR Data Model and collaborate with BI, Data Science, and Strategic Analytics teams to understand and deliver ongoing data solutions.
- Continuously monitor and improve data engineering processes, adopting best practices for data quality, security, and governance.
- Oversee the deployment and monitoring of machine learning and AI models.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field as a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related field.
- Proven expertise in leading and managing a data engineering team.
- Strong technical skills in data architecture, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration.
- Proven experience in deploying data warehouse solutions on Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, or GCP.
- Experience with data governance, security, and quality management, including data confidentiality practices such as data masking.
- High proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience coaching developers on data best practices.
- Experience with DevOps and MLOps practices and tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering data engineering solutions on time and within budget.
- Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Experience in financial services or a related industry preferred.
- Familiarity with building out data cataloging tools preferred.
- Experience deploying MLOps practices preferred.
- Knowledge of Sigma Computing and Salesforce CRMA preferred.
- Computer competency and ability to work with a computer.

Compensation Information:
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $187,000 to $236,000
