As a Senior Research Director / Research Director with the Blue Matter Insights team, you will join a firm with a dynamic and growing team of seasoned market research consultants and have the opportunity to help grow and build the company. Working collaboratively with internal and client team members, your remit is to address critical business issues in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals and deliver value through providing innovative and actionable insights and solutions to our clients.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Successfully oversees and execute all aspects of the primary market research process – proposal design, research design; screener / questionnaire / discussion guide development; data collection, analysis and synthesis; and report creation and presentation
  • Participate in project scoping and planning discussions and to develop of market research proposals in collaboration with an Associate Principal or Principal
  • Employ a broad range of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies and tools to address client business objectives
  • Manage timelines and budgets; coordinate with relevant parties (internal team, external clients, contractors and vendors) to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Write reports and collaborate on key insights and recommendation development in conjunction with project team
  • Line management: prioritize workload and liaise with team members to ensure workload is appropriate and that deadlines are met; supervise professional development, set personal objectives and handle the training and development of junior members of staff

Research skills:

Qualitative Skills:
  • Independent discussion guide design that demonstrates a clear understanding of client business and research objectives
  • Analysis and interpretation of diverse qualitative data sets including US and global patient and HCP interviews  
  • Moderate interviews with a range of HCP specialties and with patients
  • Present final reports to client core and cross functional teams
  • Run a wide range of US and global project types such as patient journey, positioning, communications testing, TPP evaluation, market landscape, drivers/barriers, etc
Quantitative skills:
  • Research design and methodology that addresses client business and research objectives
  • Independent questionnaire design that demonstrates a clear understanding of client business and research objectives
  • Analysis and interpretation of diverse quantitative data sets including US and global patient and HCP respondents 
  • Recommend and incorporate advanced analytics into questionnaire and reports; partner with statisticians on design and analysis, interpret advanced analytics such as MaxDiff, TURF, conjoint 
  • Manage fieldwork and propose appropriate sample composition
  • Oversee programming, tabulation, coding, and charting workstreams to ensure alignment of tasks with project specs
  • Present final reports to client core and cross-functional teams
  • Run a wide range of project types such as demand, chart audit, communications testing, TPP evaluation, market map, trackers/ATU, segmentation, forecasting, etc

Client management
  • Build and grow client relationships; own (when appropriate) relationships with select client team members
  • Generate repeat business
  • Serve as the lead point of contact throughout the market research project, demonstrate credibility and build client trust
  • Run client communications with a proactive, solution-oriented style, including in challenging situations
  • Present complex ideas in a clear manner; facilitate client meetings and readouts in conjunction with project lead
  • Exhibit an understanding of “big picture”, longer-term project, client, and account significance

Other Expected Skills:
  • 7-10 years of quantitative and/or qualitative market research experience within the biopharma industry
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree preferred (PhD, MBA, MS, MpH)


Ability to work remotely from any US location.

Compensation: Base salary range: $150,000 - 215,000 per yearGenerous incentive compensation structure.
