As a Windows Architect you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust and efficient infrastructure solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of system architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for automating processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Sabre Personal Technology Cloud Architecture Team is looking for a talented Sr Cloud Architect. At Sabre, we’re passionate about building software that solves problems. We're searching for a new team member with fresh ideas, a unique viewpoint and interest in engineering the best possible solutions for our internal customers.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage robust Windows Server infrastructure and related technologies, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Architect and oversee the deployment of Windows-based solutions in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments (GCP, Azure).
  • Lead the design and optimization of Active Directory and Azure AD environments, including group policies, authentication, and identity management.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security best practices and standards (e.g., NIST, PCI).
  • Develop and implement strategies for Windows updates, patch management, and endpoint security using tools like Intune.
  • Architect solutions to support virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and GCP Environments.
  • Provide expertise in the implementation of PowerShell scripts and automation to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact infrastructure projects, including server migrations, disaster recovery planning, and data center optimizations.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and provide recommendations to enhance system performance.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex issues related to Windows infrastructure, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and best practices for system configurations.
  • Solution design and engineering of endpoint security using Microsoft Defender and/or other products. 
  • Participate in security incident response and vulnerability management processes
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and best practices
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and take corrective actions to improve stability and performance of systems running on production environment


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in Windows system architecture, administration, and design.
  • 5+ years of Microsoft Defender product configuration and management in Microsoft Security Portal. 
  • Deep expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy management.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Intune, and Windows Autopilot for device management.
  • Strong background in cloud technologies (e.g., Azure IaaS/PaaS).
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting and other automation tools.
  • Experience with VDI solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop or GCP VDI.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals, security protocols, and enterprise storage solutions.
  • Basic Understandings of Microsoft and Google baseline security product awareness.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and DevOps practices.
