Position Overview:
This leadership role will oversee our User Experience Center of Excellence team. This role will provide leadership and expertise innovating and validating the next generation digital experiences for children and adults managing type 1 and type 2 diabetes. This role is critical to setting the company’s best in class user research strategy and other innovative methodologies for Insulet’s award-winning OmniPod products and other drug delivery solutions.
This role will work collaboratively with members of the leadership and executive team, designers, marketing, product management and engineering to innovate and translate deep user insights into compelling digital experiences. This role is also the subject matter expert (SME) for user experience; short-term and long-term growth strategy, lead and direct exploratory user experience research and development, regularly interface with management to ensure research operations reflect overall corporate vision/strategy. This position will ensure all user experience projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of user experience initiatives and team members; including, scheduling, workload balancing, task prioritization, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Lead and establish the user experience research strategy of our mobile digital products and applications.
• Evangelize the role of user experience research across the company.
• Responsible for defining, scheduling, communicating, and meeting deliverables for critical program checkpoints and milestones for team.
• Lead, manage, and mentor User Experience team. Coach employees on technical and interpersonal development.
• Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in cognitive science, experimental psychology, HCI, Interaction Design or related discipline.
• At least 10+ years’ experience managing and leading user research on web and mobile applications in a technology-centered company; preferably the medical devices industry.
Minimum Requirements:
• Expert in user research methodologies. Experience conducting research on tablets and smartphones.
• Strong leadership, excellent communications skills and extensive experience leading and working with technical teams and management.
• Drive and own design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform applications.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.
• PC skill, word processing, spreadsheet, database.
• Ability to organize and judge priorities.
• Ability to generate and maintain accurate records.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others across the organization.
• Fluent in usability standards and design heuristics for mobile, web and other platforms.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $205,800.00 - $309,150.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
