Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Case Analyst to support program management activities, particularly in the development and assessment of business cases. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a proven background in financial modelling, benefits evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. This role is pivotal to the success of major programs, providing the foundation for decision-making through robust and detailed business case documentation.

Requirements


Key Responsibilities

  • Business Case Development: Lead the development of strategic, outline, and full business cases for complex digital and business transformation initiatives. Conduct financial analysis, create cost models, and outline potential funding mechanisms.
  • Benefits Evaluation: Collaborate with program teams to define, quantify, and validate benefits. Support the tracking of benefits realization across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop comprehensive cost models that consider short-term and long-term program financial impacts, potential risks, and value propositions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate business case outcomes, and gather feedback. Present business cases to stakeholders, ensuring clarity in financial implications, potential ROI, and project value.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare high-quality documentation for each business case, including key metrics, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments. Generate periodic reports to update stakeholders on progress and outcomes.

Required Expertise

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in business case development within program management or large-scale transformation projects.
  • Strong background in financial analysis and cost modeling, with a demonstrated ability to assess complex financial scenarios.
  • Experience in benefits management or outcomes evaluation, including tracking and reporting realized benefits.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in an accessible manner.
  • Familiarity with project and program management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP) is a plus.

Key Skills-



  • Analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • High level of proficiency in relevant software, including Excel, financial modeling tools, and project management software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a detail-oriented approach to tasks.

Required Certifications

  • APMG Better Business Cases certification is essential.
  • Certifications in financial analysis, project management, or benefits management (such as PRINCE2, MSP, or CIMA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
