Job description

GoTeam is currently in search of a Prepress Operator to join our team. Are you a highly skilled individual with experience in prepress operations with proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator? Responsibilities:

File Preparation and Review:

  • Prepare, edit, and proof digital files, ensuring they align with printing specifications.
  • Perform quality checks and preflight inspections to identify and correct potential errors.
  • Adjust files for image resolution, color accuracy, bleed, and format to meet printing standards.

Color Management:

  • Utilize color profiles to ensure accurate color reproduction across different substrates and printing methods.
  • Work with designers and clients to confirm color specifications and perform color corrections when necessary.

Workflow Management:

  • Ensure all files are organized and prepared according to production schedules.
  • Maintain an efficient file management system, ensuring easy access and backup for all projects.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

  • Identify and resolve issues in file setups or printing limitations, including font errors, image resolution, or layout inconsistencies.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to address technical challenges and improve print quality.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Inspect proofs and final outputs to maintain high standards of accuracy and detail.
  • Adhere to industry best practices and safety standards in all prepress activities.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in prepress operations or a related field in printing production.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), as well as prepress software like Enfocus PitStop, RIPs, and proofing software.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of color management, print processes (offset, digital, screen), and file preparation standards.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and focus, especially under tight deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Knowledge of AGFA Apogee, Quite Imposing and AccurioPro Label advantageous but not essential.
