Company Description

About EIT RawMaterials

As the world moves towards a greener future, the demand for raw materials—minerals and metals—is set to increase immensely over the next three decades. Europe faces a critical challenge in securing a stable supply of these essential resources. This challenge is where EIT RawMaterials steps in.

EIT RawMaterials is at the forefront of driving innovation and sustainability in the raw materials sector. As an Innovation Community within the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), we collaborate with over 300 partners across industry, academia, and research institutes. Together, we forge dynamic, long-term partnerships to develop innovative solutions that meet Europe's growing demand for raw materials.

Position

Are you an experienced sales-oriented Business Developer who wants to help us foster innovation in the raw materials sector?

As a Business Development Manager at EIT RawMaterials, you will be an integral part of our journey towards a greener, more resilient Europe.

We are looking for someone who possesses solution sales skills, solid business judgment, practical application of technical solutions, and broad, flexible, and interdisciplinary thinking, a skilled networker with strong problem-solving and interpersonal capabilities.

Joining one of the largest and strongest consortia in the raw materials sector worldwide, your focus will be on the dynamic Central & West European region.

Your role will be pivotal in advancing our mission by:

  • Assisting Partners: Provide support to partners in the Central & West European countries and beyond in innovation project development, feasibility studies, and project management tasks. Evaluate and assess project outcomes to ensure alignment with objectives.
  • Sales and Partner Acquisition: Drive service sales for current partners while actively seeking opportunities to expand the EIT RawMaterials network by acquiring new partners. Showcase the value proposition of our products and services, including Open Innovation Challenges and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Project Evaluation and Lifecycle Management: Evaluate the progress of ongoing innovation upscaling projects, including start-ups and scale-ups. Support projects' lifecycle management to facilitate market uptake and maximize impact.
  • Promotion and Event Management: Promote and sell key products and services, actively contributing to the development and monitoring of matchmaking and networking events. Engage with partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Liaison and Networking: Connect with national and regional innovation programs, local partners, and government bodies to explore opportunities for collaboration and funding. Contribute to the financial sustainability of EIT RawMaterials through strategic partnerships and initiatives.

Your work will be instrumental in accelerating Europe's transition towards a sustainable, resilient, and resource-efficient future.

Requirements

What you bring to the table:

  • Solid expertise in sales, business development, and project portfolio management.
  • Experience in product and/or business development within raw or advanced materials or related topics (e.g., market analysis, incubation, business model design, funding, mentoring, patenting), and a sound network of personal contacts in our region.
  • Commercial experience setting up and selling services to SMEs and large organizations.
  • Fluency in English and German, with additional language skills considered advantageous.
  • A deep understanding of the Central & West European metals/minerals sector.
  • At least an MSc or equivalent degree related to raw and advanced materials.
  • Familiarity with EU or national funding programs is a plus.
