Job description

What do we do?

Paddle offers SaaS companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.

We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 3000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.

The Role:

As Senior Product Marketing Manager, you’ll work closely with Paddle’s PMM + Content, go-to-market, Product, Demand Generation, Customer Success and Sales teams. Your focus will be on leveraging market research and insights to drive data-driven content strategies that effectively educate and engage Paddle’s target audiences across various global go-to-market initiatives. You will develop and execute go-to-market strategies, positioning and messaging to drive product adoption and growth in target markets.

To be successful in this role, beyond exceptional research, ideation, and writing skills, you’ll need to be comfortable scoping and delivering Product Marketing strategies that align with market insights and business targets. You’ll also need to be adept at managing stakeholder expectations and prioritizing requests.

What you'll do:

  1. Strategy Development: Work with the Head of Product Marketing to implement a comprehensive product marketing strategy aligned with overall business objectives. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform target markets and positioning strategies for products.

  2. Product Positioning and Messaging: Define the value proposition of our products and develop messaging that highlights unique features, benefits, and competitive advantages. Ensure that the messaging resonates with the target audience and effectively differentiates the product from competitors.

  3. Product Communication: Serve as a key liaison between the product management team and the marketing team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Translate product features and functionality into compelling marketing messages and value propositions.

  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, including product management, sales, enablement, customer success, marketing communications, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive approach and consistent messaging across all touchpoints.

  5. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and gather customer insights to analyze the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for product growth and improvement.

  6. Product Enablement: Working with product management, develop comprehensive product tools and resources to ensure clear product understanding across the business

  7. Enablement alignment: Partner with the enablement team to equip the commercial organization with product knowledge and messaging.

  8. Content Creation: Develop high-quality marketing content, including product sheets, whitepapers, case studies, and presentations to support product launches and ongoing marketing efforts.

  9. Launch Planning and Execution: Coordinate and execute product launches, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful go-to-market strategies.

  10. Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and analyze the performance of product marketing initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to the Head of Product Marketing and other stakeholders.

  11. Industry Thought Leadership: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to contribute to positioning the company as a thought leader in the market. This may involve contributing to industry publications, participating in relevant industry associations, or supporting speaking opportunities at events.

  12. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in product marketing processes and strategies, recommending and implementing changes as appropriate.

We'd love to hear from you:

  • Exceptional research and writing skills, with the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex subject matter

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to drive GTM plans aligned with market needs and business objectives

  • Have strong critical thinking mindset with the ability to objectively analyze and evaluate information to form a reasoned judgment and connect the dots

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with people across all levels and functions of an organization

  • Experience producing content across formats and working with different kinds of creatives (writers, videographers, illustrators, graphic designers)

  • You’re a fast learner and have an appetite for fast-paced work

  • Have had some experience in competitive intelligence and analysis

A nice to have

  • Proven experience in SaaS or Fintech with a background in content or growth marketing (and we’ll be extra excited if you have a payments background)
