Summary

The Product Owner is responsible for aligning business needs with platform capabilities, managing multiple initiatives, and collaborating with internal development teams and external vendors. They are liaisons between stakeholders, development teams, and operations and assist with setting prioritization to balance the needs of our stakeholders, our clients, and our platform. They will leverage knowledge and experience to optimize product functionality, triage challenges, and coordinate change management. For external platforms, they stay updated on vendor roadmaps, advocate for beneficial features, and ensure efficient licensing and utilization.

Additionally, the Product Owner acts as the technology advocate/champion, driving adoption and removing roadblocks. They build and maintain product roadmaps, track utilization metrics, and work closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into actionable requests, ensuring Partner meets our evolving business requirements.

The position may be remote or hybrid, based on location. This is a full time role. Regular business hours vary based on business needs, but generally are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Managing life and work responsibilities is unique for everyone. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain and provide insight into the business needs and knowledge of company systems and participate in prioritization processes
  • Provide insight and work with Operations to determine the scale/type of changes that we can make at one time, to ensure we are growing and pushing the business
  • For internally developed platforms, coordinate with the Development Team on changes:
    • Manage and maintain multiple initiatives or platforms at one time
    • Act as product leader for agile team(s) associated with platforms assigned
    • Participate in Triage efforts as needed to support the development and support process
    • Participate in or create Major Initiatives Charter Documents and Initiative Definition Documents
    • Decision making responsibility for functionality in the assigned platforms, based on initiative size/scope;
    • Maintain the approach for products to be configurable without development touches, for product/SMEs to be empowered to make changes through configuration
      • Configuration vs. coding
      • Modules within report writers
  • For external/licensed platforms assigned:
    • Understand and stay up to date on vendors product roadmap
    • Identify new features beneficial to company and spearhead their implementation
    • Advocate to the vendor to develop features that would benefit company
    • Understand the licensing model and ensure that company efficiently manages it
    • Understand the product and be able to lead/assist someone in the business with leveraging it, and/or perform the configuration for the business as necessary.
  • For internal or external/licensed platforms assigned:
    • Act as the evangelist for the platform across the enterprise ensuring that it is leveraged in all areas that would be beneficial
    • Advocate for and potentially participate in necessary testing before rolling changes to production
    • Work with Operations on change management (and testing?) for new technology rollouts
    • Understand the disaster recovery/business continuity requirements for the platform and ensure that appropriate plans are in place at all times
    • Build and maintain a Product Roadmap for the platform covering: current functionality, planned features/enhancements, planned upgrades, etc…
    • Establish and track appropriate metrics to measure the utilization of the platform
  • For business areas assigned:
    • Work with key business stakeholders and clients when applicable to understand specific needs and translate that into PTT work requests for consideration
    • Understand key requirements and priorities and represent those in the intake and prioritization process
    • Understand the platforms necessary for the business areas assigned

  • Relevant work experience in commercial real estate and/or appraisal is/is not required

Preferred 

  • Relevant Work Experience and/or Education:
    • Relevant work experience may include, but not limited to: business analyst, operations analyst, business systems analyst, project manager, IT consultant, agile team lead/Scrum master, operations manager, or a related field in technology, or business
    • Degree, or concentration may include, but not limited to: business administration, computer science, information systems, information technology project management, product management, operations management, real estate, finance, or a related field in technology or business
  • Experience in product ownership, task prioritization, and/or change management
  • Experience with Databases and API integrations
  • Prior experience in appraisal related businesses
  • Interest in advancing the appraisal industry through culture, technology, and innovation

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Regular use of computer and related technology.
  • Infrequent lifting of lightweight items (up to 10 lbs).
  • Attending and/or leading meetings, in person or virtually, which may include note taking, summarizing, and/or task delegation
  • Speaking and listening: verbal communication is key in this role, whether presenting, discussing with stakeholders, or coordinating with teams
  • Frequently communicate with colleagues, vendors, and market participants via telephone, email, online correspondence, messengers, and video conferencing.
  • Frequently compile, interpret, and convey requests from stakeholders, development teams, operations, and vendors.
  • Frequently utilize the Microsoft Suite of applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Frequently utilize data visualization software for product road mapping, metric tracking, and related tasks
  • Occasional mobility, as needed, to move around office for meetings or collaboration
