Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Project Manager for our Construction team. In this influential role, you will oversee all dimensions of key capital construction projects, ensuring optimal management of permitting, vendor procurement, contracting, and construction oversight. Your leadership will be vital in facilitating seamless project execution from initiation to closure, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct project scope, schedule, and budget management to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
  • Manage all phases of construction, including pre-construction, design development, and project closeout.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to develop business cases that support project approvals.
  • Create and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to solicit bids from contractors and vendors.
  • Work closely with commissioning partners to guarantee proper system testing and validation.
  • Ensure the precise transfer of project documentation to the operations team, facilitating operational readiness post-project.
  • Act as a liaison between design teams and Data Center Operations to ensure alignment with technical standards.
  • Produce and distribute monthly project reports that detail budget, schedule, and overall status.
  • Assist in managing vendor contracts and negotiations for both new and existing relationships.
  • Foster a culture that reflects the organization's values and promotes continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment with a mix of on-site and remote work.
  • Willingness to travel and effectively manage projects from a distance.
  • Proficient understanding of mission-critical facilities and experience in managing construction in active environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of the entitlements process, including permitting and inspections.
  • Familiarity with complex mechanical and electrical systems, their installation, and operation.
  • Strong capability in simultaneously managing multiple projects and interpreting design drawings.
  • Proficient in drafting RFPs and preparing contract documentation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Competence in contributing to the budgeting process for complex construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a relevant field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience managing progressively complex construction projects, including CSA and MEP construction.
  • Strong background in data center construction is highly preferred.
