Senior DevOps Technical Support Engineer

Overview of the role:  

The primary responsibility of this role is to troubleshoot services and applications deployed in an AWS hosting environment, utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki. Additional responsibility includes focusing on CI/CD pipelines, automation, Jenkins, and service capacity and performance management. 

 

What you’ll do 

Troubleshooting and Support: 

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with services and applications deployed in AWS. 

  • Utilize Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki for monitoring, logging, and alerting. 

  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and fix issues. 

  • Direct involvement in Incident Management process for L1 and L2 incidents supporting IM team to identify root cause and help systems and service recovery. 

  • Monitoring and Maintenance: 

  • Set up and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts using Prometheus and Grafana. 

  • Ensure the reliability and availability of applications and services. 

  • Perform regular system health checks and maintenance tasks. 

  • Service Capacity and Performance Management: 

  • Monitor and manage service capacity and performance. 

  • Analyze performance metrics and implement improvements. 

  • Conduct capacity planning and scaling activities.

Service Capacity and Performance Management: 

  • Monitor and manage service capacity and performance. 

  • Analyze performance metrics and implement improvements. 

  • Conduct capacity planning and scaling activities. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in development, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. 

  • Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment processes. 

  • Improve CI/CD and deployment process by collaboration with development teams to integrate best practices. 

 

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive knowledge in using Observability Platforms in place like, Prometheus, Graylog , Kibana, Loki, open Search and be able to create visualization dashboards, performance thresholds and trends identification and alert management.  

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash for automating DevOps processes. 

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible. 

  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments 

  • Good understanding of relational databases and SQL (MySQL) and using SQL queries for troubleshooting. 

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (understanding of distributed system, Jenkins and GitHub Actions) 

  • Solid knowledge of code management with GitHub and Bitbucket. 

  • Deep knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and services, especially ECS Fargate, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail (knowledge of EKS is a plus). 

  • Understanding of cloud architectures in AWS and container-based models like Docker and Podman; Kubernetes and Istio are a plus. 

Skills: 

  • Ability to actively listen and thoroughly analyze customer requirements. 

  • Good teamwork skills and a hands-on approach. 

  • Very good English language skills, both spoken and written. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced international environment. 

  • Working closely with Tribes, Squads, Clients and provide technical support and handling escalations for technical incidents. 

  • A willingness to participate in on-call rotation for system and incident support if needed. 

  • Familiarity with agile development methods. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer). 

  • Experience with other monitoring and logging tools. 

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). 

  • Certification in Linux administration 

  • Certification in Jenkins
