Job Title: Renewables Real Estate Attorney, Energy Storage - Remote

Job Overview

Backed by substantial private equity investment and with a portfolio exceeding 9GW of projects, we are experiencing an exhilarating period of growth and are seeking a talented Renewables Real Estate Attorney to contribute to our objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a leading authority in lease negotiations, land options, purchase agreements, and easements for renewable energy projects at the utility scale.
  • Prepare, amend, and negotiate legal instruments for initiatives across diverse locations nationwide.
  • Assist the Real Estate team with thorough due diligence processes, encompassing land use assessments and title examinations.
  • Manage financial closures of land development transactions.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external parties, including outside legal counsel, throughout the land acquisition journey.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of land title complexities, mineral rights, and permitting processes pertaining to projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the drafting and evaluation of real estate documentation, such as purchase agreements, leases, and easements.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities in land transactions.
  • Familiarity with the lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including interconnection, permitting, and financing.
  • Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of legal experience in substantial infrastructure land development transactions, preferably as a licensed attorney with an emphasis on utility-scale renewables.
  • A solid track record in negotiations related to land and commercial real estate transactions.
