Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager to become an integral part of our innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive review of advanced tax returns and the supervision of critical accounting functions. You will coordinate workflow distribution, manage scheduling, and offer guidance to supervisors, seniors, staff, and interns, cultivating a collaborative and nurturing work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews of advanced tax returns for diverse entities including C-Corporations, Partnerships, S-Corporations, Individuals, Non-Profits, and Trusts.
  • Oversee the meticulous examination of Form 1099s, Payroll Tax Returns, Sales Tax Returns, Business Property Statements, and Business Licenses.
  • Prepare estate tax plans, specialized partnership allocations, stock sales, and ownership transitions.
  • Provide representation during tax audits as required.
  • Participate in managerial meetings and serve on various committees as appointed.
  • Optimize the distribution of workflow and scheduling for supervisors, seniors, and staff to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the billing process by analyzing Work In Progress (WIP) and delivering accurate invoice totals.
  • Lead client service discussions and contribute to business development through networking and marketing initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Profound knowledge of various tax forms, entity establishment, retirement plan options, foreign entity reporting, Section 1031 exchanges, and specialized tax credits.
  • Familiarity with accounting software including CFS, QuickBooks, T-value, Adobe Acrobat, Axcess Tax, Engagement, and CCH Workstream.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to mentor, train, and collaborate effectively with team members.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accountancy is required, along with a CPA or EA license, although equivalent experience and ongoing education may be considered.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, potentially exceeding 55 hours per week during the tax season.
