The North America Business Development Manager (BDM) will be focused on our solid state switching platform.  He/She is a seasoned sales leader and selling professional with experience in a complex selling environment of engineered, rapidly evolving, technology driven solutions in the electrical industry.  The candidate will need to engage directly with key customers to understand their needs and collaborate and influence a regional sales team /channels to achieve planned results.   The BDM will also work with Product Management to create monthly business forecasts, help define target growth areas (customer segments & applications), understand competitors, analyze long-term market dynamics, and suggest new product development programs.

What You Will Do:

  • Take immediate accountability of North America sales results with an existing account base.
  • Actively influence a regional sales team including manufacturer representatives to Identify, acquire, manage and develop new opportunities, accounts and/or applications for our products /processes within the Littelfuse Industrial Business group of products.
  • Lead pricing negotiations with large Global OEMs
  • Lead the development and implementation of Key Account strategies.
  • Manage the New Business Opportunity Pipeline to maximize business across all applicable product lines.
  • Establish and nurture strategic and top-level executive relationships with major end users

  • Establish and nurture strategic and top-level executive relationships with major end users
  • Contribute to developing Business Unit and Corporate strategic plans.
  • Provide industry expertise on voice of customer, economic, product, and technical trends.
  • Identify and modify/add sales resources, direct and/or indirect to grown within the segment.
  • Advise on underpenetrated market segments or changes to routes to market to maximize customer access
  • Develop sales metrics, goals, and review processes.
  • Actively develop tools and processes to provide a sales forecast for each product line to assist product management and production.
  • Collect the "Voice of the Customers" and provide input and support on technical/logistic/commercial solutions.
  • Provide insight to Product Management and R&D in New Product Development ideas.
  • Track progress of sales and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the product line and the value proposition within specific applications.
  • Monitor and report competitive landscape globally.
  • Collaboration closely with cross-functional resources to provide global sales with presentations material that affectively articulates the value proposition of product/solution offerings.
  • Analyze and monitor markets/industry segments for opportunities, trends and future developments with respect to business and product development in OEM sales

Who You Are:

  • 5+ Years of sales/sales management in engineered, technical, electrical, solutions
  • Ability to design and conduct technical training seminars, webinars, and training modules.
  • Ability to write and direct articles to be written for technical support of focus segments.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the relevant market and industry segments
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Experience mapping markets and segments including TAM/SAM/CAGR evaluation by multiple means
  • Comfortable discussing engineering concepts/principles with customer design engineers in the field and internal FAE
  • Ability to analyze results and communicate findings effectively to all internal stakeholders
  • Multi-language skills a plus
