The Associate Key Account Manager will have three distinct focus areas. They will be responsible for the management of specific smaller pharmacy accounts across the country. This position will also support the operational needs of all embecta pharmacy accounts while working closely with the account managers. They will also be responsible for new business development -in particular in the small distributer space.

This is a remote role and can reside anywhere in Canada

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key accounts: 50% of time

  • Accomplishment of sales and category growth targets for assigned accounts.
  • Efficient utilization of existing programs and tools to have strong execution in assigned accounts.
  • Manage dedicated budget by ensuring effective use of the spend budgeted for the business.
  • Prepare regular reports on account status, including performance against KPIs and future business opportunities.
  • Present data and insights to both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and build excellent customer relationships with customers that build trust and respect.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitive offerings to provide relevant advice to clients.

New Business development: 10% of time

  • Engage with new customers in the small distributer space to evaluate new growth opportunities and provide reporting analytics while working with the customer and the commercial operations teams.

Account operational support: 40% of time

  • Working closely with the account managers-support national account needs on successful embecta product transition including customer specific forms, files, portal requirements for success.
  • Support key account team on day to day customer operational needs including reporting, portal management, claims and deduction data support.
  • 30 % travel may be required

Basic Requirements:

  • University Degree required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical / medical device sales industry required (ideally pharmacy retail space).
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of business finance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to understand and interpret client data to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
  • Time management skills and ability to handle multiple key accounts simultaneously.
