GENERAL FUNCTION: 

The sales operation function ensures strategic oversight and seamless operational management of sales, pre-sales, post-sales, and go-to-market. This is a strategic role responsible for supporting the execution of sales and service processes and ensuring the sales team operates efficiently. This role will be responsible for advancing sales policies, process optimizations, and tools to drive revenue and growth. 

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Sales Effectiveness: 

  • Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of sales and go-to-market initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture business requirements and implement new sales and customer-related processes 
  • Optimize existing sales processes, practices, and policies for internal customer satisfaction and employee productivity. 
  • Ensure high levels of data quality and process consistency in sales and marketing systems 
  • Analyze sales data, take action, and measure impact to support decision-making. 
  • Automate dashboards and reports that are intuitive and actionable while developing sales forecasts to predict revenue for new and existing clients. 
  • Work cross-functionally to investigate and conduct analysis on system and operational issues. 
  • Curate the sales pipeline and create greater visibility and tracking for the entire team. 
  • Drive consistent execution of the consultative sales and service process across the footprint. Provide training and sales tools to sales roles (and partners) to support their achievement of goals. 
  • Assist with quarterly business reviews. 
  • Ensure proper onboarding, education, training, and success for new (or new to Fifth Third Bank) sales roles. 
  • Partner with Bancorp Leadership and Sales Managers to define and establish sales roles, goals, activities and expected outcomes. 
  • Develop and establish the use of appropriate sales tools for use by assigned business’s Sales team members. Work across multiple functional areas to influence program and process improvements that increase sales and revenue results through improved coaching and sales tools. 
  • Establish a sales tools knowledge base with playbooks and business requirement documents.  
  • Develop and implement a process to continually monitor and improve operating rhythms, processes, and sales procedures. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, related field or equivalent work experience 
  • 5 years of banking and sales operations experience. 
  • Previous leadership role in Sales and/or Project Management is a plus. 
  • Experience in sales/business operations, data science, investment banking, management consulting, or business analytics preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to convert strategic vision into a tactical plan, and to execute on that plan. 
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to solving unique business problems 
  • Experience working with large data sets to solve problems and creating scalable reports and dashboards or ad-hoc analysis 
  • Proficient Excel and PowerPoint skills 
  • Advanced SQL is a plus 
  • Knowledge of sales data such as customer accounts, opportunities and revenue 
  • Strong presence and credibility with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills. 
  • Experience operating successfully in a complex, matrixed organization, driving change through influence. 
  • Strong sales performance, employing a holistic, partnership-oriented, solution-based model. Strong analytical skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like. 

Extended viewing of CRT screen. Extended Travel including overnight.
