Position Description

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in actualizing our clients’ aspirations. This dynamic position encompasses client interaction, civil engineering design, and team leadership. You will be tasked with managing projects, preparing engineering analyses and reports, creating designs and plans, and developing cost estimates for a wide array of projects. An essential aspect of this role involves mentoring team members in AutoCAD Civil 3D. We empower our project managers with the flexibility and resources necessary to lead and steward projects successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director on marketing initiatives and client engagement.
  • Oversee a diverse range of public works and private land development projects.
  • Ensure adherence to project scope, budgets, and schedules, guaranteeing compliance and profitability.
  • Address design challenges utilizing engineering calculations and established design standards.
  • Enforce project controls to ensure the quality and accuracy of plans.
  • Maintain technical excellence, profitability, and effective communication with project personnel and clients.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Engage with clients on a daily basis, crafting proposals, negotiating scopes and fees, and managing billing processes.
  • Lead project teams, which include design engineers and CAD operators, while mentoring junior staff.

Required Skills

  • Strong design capabilities in grading, drainage, streets, sewers, storm drains, and utilities.
  • Proficient in applying civil engineering principles within a service-oriented business framework.
  • Expertise in preparing grading, utility, and site plans, as well as cost estimations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, coupled with leadership competencies.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years in a Project Management capacity.
  • Current CA P.E. license is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
