Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented remote Accounting Assistant to join our team. As a Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for providing essential support in various accounting tasks, such as data entry, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting & Tax Office Lodgements. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own location.

The main responsibilities of a Accounting Assistant include:
  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations.
  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
  • Collaborate with team members to review and reconcile financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing support in gathering relevant data and preparing reports.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and classification of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of Business Activity Statements and other statutory filings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance and efficient operations.
