Executive Assistant to the Director of Change

Salary: London ranging from £46,400 to £60,000

The team/department  

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to provide support to the Director of Change within the Change Directorate, which is part of the Operations Division.

The Change Directorate manages the FCA’s Change Portfolio, partnering with colleagues from across the FCA to help shape, deliver and embed strategic, regulatory and operational change. It is a centre of excellence for project managers and business analysts within the FCA, who provide their expertise in change management. 

  

What you will be doing (the role)  

  • Support the Director and Senior Leadership Team in driving strategy and goals, managing sensitive documents and presentations

  • Work with the PA to prioritise the Director’s diary, ensuring effective decision-making and meeting preparation with senior stakeholders

  • Review papers, follow up on actions, and coordinate outputs for meetings, monitoring Management Information and CAMMS risk profile

  • Serve as the main contact for the Director, managing communication, handling sensitive information, and addressing key issues

  • Assist the Directorate in collaborating with key business areas like Finance, HR, and Strategy on behalf of the Director

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, problem-solving and ensuring smooth communication across the division

The skills and experience you will have  

    

Minimum

  • Proven experience of senior stakeholder management both internally and externally at all levels

  • Proven organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, and able to adapt to changing demands and circumstances

  • Experience of working independently and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, operating within complex subject matter areas

  

Essential  

  • Evidence of working effectively within a large organisation operating within a public sector, political, or highly regulated environment

  • Strong team-player with excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills - must be comfortable with working at all levels and able to push back in a constructive and positive manner

  • An ability to analyse and rapidly assimilate new information, understand complex issues, and provide practical or constructive recommendations - you will be expected to work with discretion, confidence, and composure when dealing with sensitive and complex situations

  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to exercise judgement and make valid and timely judgements

  • Tenacity to question and challenge all levels of the FCA (where appropriate) in a constructive and positive manner

  • An ability to work independently and proactively identify opportunities for improvement

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
