Description/Job Summary

Lindahl Reed is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to help manage support the financial operations within our organization. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the financial operations of the company. The AR Specialist will maintain accurate records, process invoices, resolve account discrepancies, and provide excellent customer service to clients. This role requires excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to achieve organizational goals. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will make sure a smooth relationship exists between Lindahl Reed and their customers.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing.
  • Accurately prepare and send out invoices to clients in a timely manner.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable records with the general ledger.
  • Communicate with customers regarding their accounts, including reminders and resolving billing inquiries.
  • Generate and review AR aging reports and other related financial reports.
  • Work closely with internal departments to resolve issues affecting the accuracy of AR records.
  • Maintain and update customer files, including contracts, change of addresses, and payment terms.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure good working relationship with customers and acknowledge and respond to questions within 1 business day.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Stay updated on accounts receivable best practices.
  • Respond cooperatively to managers and staff members in other departments to promote teamwork.


Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or related finance role with Bachelor’s degree. 7+ years of experience in accounts receivable with Associate’s degree.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, x-lookups and v-lookups
  • Strong attention to detail, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to follow tasks and objectives through to completion.
  • Organizational Skills: strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective customer and team interactions
  • Team Player: collaborative attitude and willingness to work closely with colleagues
  • Problem Solver: ability to identify and resolve issues in a proactive and efficient manner
  • Government accounting experience a plus
  • Unanet, Deltek CostPoint, or NetSuite experience is a must
