Job Overview

Join our esteemed organization as a Medical Accounts Receivable Representative, where you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our healthcare financial processes. This fully remote position offers you the chance to contribute to a company renowned for its commitment to compliance and excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the resolution of incidents by managing pending cases, initiating appeals, and verifying demographic and insurance information as required.
  • Monitor and analyze reimbursements from various insurance companies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while implementing appropriate collection strategies.
  • Engage proactively with insurance carriers via phone to secure payments, meticulously documenting all interactions and following up with clients to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Oversee outstanding accounts daily, aiming to expedite payment for open incidents.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance providers, taking necessary actions such as appealing denied or underpaid claims and seeking adjustments from clients.
  • Communicate observed trends in insurance denials to supervisors to support the identification of issues with specific payers, while addressing inquiries from account managers and insurance carriers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in medical billing, preferably across multiple specialties.
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT codes, modifiers, and diagnosis codes.
  • Familiarity with payer guidelines and physician billing processes, including appeals and denials management.
  • Experience with private, government, and workers' compensation insurance companies is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively, managing multiple responsibilities while adhering to deadlines.
  • Adaptability to respond to urgent tasks as they arise, with a collaborative approach to working with personnel at all organizational levels.

Qualifications

  • Prior medical billing experience is essential, with an emphasis on exposure to diverse specialties.
