Manager, Accounting


Position Overview:

Bloom, the insurance industry’s trusted growth partner, is looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to lead our accounting team. This role will be responsible for ensuring all accounting-related functions are carried out efficiently in accordance with company policies, procedures and work practices and meet all statutory compliance requirements.


We are looking for an exceptional individual who can:


  • Maintain accurate financial information ensuring execution and compliance of internal policies as well as external requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Generate monthly customer invoices.
  • Review, prepare and process accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of company’s financial statements.
  • Perform and/or review account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance of accounting month-end calendar, including accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Maintain strong financial control environment by identifying opportunities in our current processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively support the external audit of the company’s financial statements.
  • Effectively leading the accounting staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising/managing accounting function
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant preferred
  • Experience in public accounting

  • Ability to pursue multiple objectives and initiatives, analyze complex issues, and facilitate change
  • Ability to use discretion when working with highly confidential information
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
