Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 8:30 p.m. – 5:15 a.m. (ET), variable schedule as needed, on call is required

How you will contribute to LifeNet Health’s success:

The Research Operations Program Manager assists leadership in the development and execution of research project biospecimen fulfillment. Maintains processes, strategies, and tactics to facilitate completion of research projects.  Works as a team with the donor center, tissue recovery, and OPO personnel to support the recovery of biospecimens for the LifeSciences Biospecimens for Research Franchise.  Acts as a resource for internal stakeholder clients, donation partners, and other resources as well as an effective advocate for research biospecimen project fulfillment.  Ensures day-to-day operations are consistently evaluating research projects to the incoming donor referrals. Develops and maintains effective relationships and business processes with LifeNet Health departments as well as both internal and external recovery agencies. Provides on-call screening support. Screens potential donations for research eligibility, provides logistical support, project collection data and reporting and fulfilment follow up. Provides quality oversight and reporting of research recovery operations across departments and recovery agencies. Maintains an effective birth tissue program to support LifeSciences.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Program & Project Management: Manages specific programs and/or initiatives and daily activities related to the acquisition, storage, tracking, fulfillment, and documentation of biospecimens recovered for research development, product development, and the advancement of science and medicine.  Partners with LifeNet Health personnel from the National Donor Recovery Services, National Donor Recovery Operations, and OPO to develop, communicate, and deliver best practices for the support and fulfillment of research projects, corporate goals, and objectives. Provides 24-hour on-call support for screenings of research projects, both internal and external recovery agencies. Develops and maintains effective birth tissue program with local hospital and OB/GYN groups to support corporate initiatives.
  • Compliance: Reviews and manages research donor chart completion to ensure project requirements are met. Supports LifeSciences Franchise to ensure biospecimen shipping and billing are timely.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Collaborates with department leadership to develop, implement, and maintain effective key performance indicators for research recovery operations. Works with the Franchise for PowerBI utilization, regular reporting, and data analytics pertaining to research project management. Participates and leads continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What you’ll bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A valid state driver’s license and insurance.
  • Five (5) years of work experience within a healthcare field or setting to include, but not limited to research with human organs and/or tissues, healthcare administration, nursing, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, ophthalmology, dental, medical technology, surgical technologists, and processing technicians in tissue/organ recovery.

 

Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Biology, Nursing, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Business, or another related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
  • Five (5) years of specific experience in OPO, Tissue Recovery, or Nursing.
  • Three (3) years of program or project management experience.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple time sensitive projects, multi-task, identify project interdependencies and potential risks/pitfalls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Teams.
  • Consultant and New Development Skills: Ability to have consultative and business development skills to achieve supply needs.
  • Knowledge of Donation: Knowledge of donation best practices.
  • Program and Project Management: Ability to effectively manage projects/programs to meet deadlines and business needs as required.

Salary: $65,972- $109,953 annually

 

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location and the candidate’s qualifications and prior relevant experience.  The pay range for this position is $64,679 annually (entry- level qualifications) to $109,953 annually (experienced in this role). *

 

*Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.

 

This position is eligible for an annual bonus once eligibility criteria are met.
