Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Mortgage Loan Officer, where you will be instrumental in assisting clients in exploring their mortgage options, with a primary emphasis on purchase lending. Your role will involve not only guiding customers through the mortgage process but also ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations while delivering exemplary service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective and existing clients to discuss mortgage solutions for purchase loans.
  • Offer assistance with refinance loans for returning customers as necessary.
  • Oversee the loan process in accordance with legal standards and company policies, in addition to applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Follow up with clients on submitted documentation, analyze credit reports, and conduct necessary research.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and USDA products to facilitate exceptional service and communication.
  • Ensure adherence to phone disclosure requirements during client interactions.
  • Clearly explain various loan products to customers, ensuring a thorough understanding of options available.
  • Confirm that loans comply with all guidelines and requirements set by state, federal, and investor regulations.
  • Collaborate with operations staff to ensure efficient processing of loan files.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to clients and agents throughout the duration of the loan process.
  • Build and sustain relationships with agents and title companies.
  • Participate in professional associations and community organizations to enhance industry networks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and USDA mortgage products.
  • Solid understanding of purchase transactions and relevant guidelines.
  • Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and loan origination software.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software (e.g., lead management systems, DU, LP, appraisal management systems) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in mortgage lending or a related field is preferred.
