Overview
Essential Function
Responsible for reviewing consolidated lease portfolio, including real estate, equipment, and embedded leases, and working with our business partners to ensure they are in compliance with ASC 842 and, if applicable, any international statutory rules. Includes reconciliations, processing of store rent changes to properly reflect those in the lease system, impairment analysis, balance sheet and income statement review of the U.S. and international operations and annual preparation of 10K footnotes. Primary owner of the Oracle lease accounting system and related supplemental schedules. Also provides recommendations to improve the lease process and assist the various teams to understand US GAAP and other financial areas related to leases. This is a corporate role based out of our headquarters in Denton, TX, and will work with international Accounting/Finance teams in Continental Europe, UK, and Mexico.
Primary Duties
40% Prepares, examines, and analyzes lease accounting records making sure information in the Oracle Lease module is in agreement with the payments being generated by the various divisions. Includes recommending improvements to the process.
20% Prepare and record entries to proper accounts in the General Ledger with relevant support.
15% Manage, identify, and ensure all financial risks are mitigated and compliant with SOX requirements. Additionally ensure process narrative documentation is current and accurately describes the process.
15% Develops, implements, modifies, and documents recordkeeping and accounting systems including preparing lease disclosures for SEC filings (10-K).
10% Perform annually long-term asset impairment analyses in the stores both in the U.S. and internationally.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
