Position Title: Remote Certified Medical Coder and Biller

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)

Pay Rate: $23.50 per hour (Temp-to-Hire)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Certified Medical Coder and Biller to join our esteemed team in a fully remote capacity. This role is vital in ensuring accuracy in patient claims and adherence to medical coding regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient claims for completeness and accuracy to facilitate seamless payer processing.
  • Assign and sequence medical codes in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with established medical coding protocols.
  • Verify accuracy of patients’ charts and medical documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve any ambiguities in documentation.
  • Collect and analyze data from physicians to create monthly performance reports.
  • Develop and implement effective coding strategies for accurate claim submissions.
  • Analyze medical malpractice claims by reviewing associated procedures and diagnoses.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, Category II, and E/M coding methodologies.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as eCW, EPIC, and strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • High emotional intelligence and a customer-centric approach.

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree in business, finance, health administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a primary care clinic environment is highly desirable.
  • Certification as a Medical Coder from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, or CCS-P) is required.
