Role Overview: The Email Marketing Specialist is central to the production and delivery of email newsletters for both B2B and B2C audiences. As a key player in the marketing team, the Email Marketing Specialist will gather necessary content, input it into our email software, test, and schedule all newsletters, while tracking performance metrics to inform optimization efforts. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects, and a strong team collaborator.

While we operate as a predominantly virtual company, we will soon open an office in Phoenix, Arizona, adopting a hybrid work approach for our AZ-based employees. This blend of remote and in-person work offers flexibility to suit diverse lifestyles, reflecting our commitment to work-life balance. We emphasize autonomy, empowering each team member to tailor their work approach for optimal productivity. 

Work Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 40 hours per week
  • 8 AM - 5 PM Phoenix, AZ (Including 1 hour unpaid break)

Key Responsibilities and Performance Metrics:

  1. Email Newsletter Production:

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Accuracy of Content (≥ 99%), On-Time Delivery (≥ 95%), Email Bounce Rate (≤ 1%)

  • Expectations:

    • Input, format, test, and schedule email newsletters using ActiveCampaign or other relevant ESPs, ensuring content accuracy and timely delivery.

    • Maintain newsletter quality by rigorously testing across devices and platforms.

  • Collaboration with Engagement and Audience Retention:

    • KPIs: Collaboration Satisfaction (≥ 4.5/5 from peers), Newsletter Performance Uplift (≥ 10% improvement in open/click-through rates)

    • Expectations:

      • Work closely with the Engagement and Audience Retention Specialist to ensure newsletters follow email marketing best practices and align with overall marketing strategies.

      • Adapt and implement feedback for continuous improvement of email performance.

  • Monitoring and Reporting on Email Performance:

    • KPIs: Report Accuracy (≥ 99%), Timeliness of Report Delivery (≥ 95%), Metric Improvements (≥ 10% improvement in open rates and CTRs)

    • Expectations:

      • Track and analyze email performance metrics such as open rates, click-through rates (CTR), and bounce rates. Provide actionable insights to the Engagement and Audience Retention Specialist.

      • Make data-driven recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of B2B and B2C email campaigns.

  • Process Enhancement and Workflow Optimization:

    • KPIs: Process Efficiency (Reduction in Production Time by ≥ 15%), Error Rate (≤ 1%)

    • Expectations:

      • Identify opportunities to streamline the email production workflow, including content flow, testing procedures, and template updates.

      • Propose and implement enhancements to the production process to improve efficiency and output quality.

  • Issue Management and CRM Support:

    • KPIs: Issue Resolution Time (≤ 24 hours), CRM System Downtime (≤ 1%)

    • Expectations:

      • Address and resolve any CRM or email production issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to the newsletter schedule.

      • Maintain smooth operations in newsletter production by troubleshooting technical problems.

  • Newsletter Growth and Retention:

    • As part of this role, you will take a lead in improving our newsletter strategy, with a strong emphasis on driving growth and enhancing subscriber retention. 

    • You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase our newsletter subscriber base, optimize engagement, and reduce churn. 

    • This includes analyzing performance data, implementing A/B testing, and exploring new distribution methods to ensure that our newsletter remains a key driver of audience growth and loyalty.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in newsletter design and email marketing strategy, with hands-on experience using ActiveCampaign or a similar platform.

    • A portfolio showcasing impactful newsletters tailored for diverse audiences.

    • Strong attention to detail with proven project and time management skills.

    • Experience Familiarity with CRM systems and production workflows.

    • Positive, collaborative interpersonal skills.
