Summary of Job Duties:
**Position is located in White Hall, AR**

The Education Coordinator will coordinate, implement, and teach the home caregiver training, certified dementia training, CNA training, and family caregiver trainings in White Hall and Little Rock locations. This position requires the ability to coordinate and teach a variety of classes geared toward adult learners of various education levels, learning styles, and ages for professionals, paraprofessionals, students, and community individuals. Strong organizational skills, dedication and communication skills are a must. Candidates should be able to work well with others, problem solve, and be capable of working with little supervision or oversight. Self-motivation, flexibility, and a positive attitude are essential.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, computing or related field plus three (3) years of program coordination experience in long-term care, rehab, or hospice/palliative care experience or

  • Associate's degrees in education, computing or related field plus five (5) years of program coordination experience in long-term care, rehab, or hospice/palliative care experience or

  • High School diploma/GED plus seven (7) years of program coordination experience in long-term care, rehab, or hospice/palliative care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dementia Training/certification.

  • Arkansas LPN or Registered Nursing license.

  • Taught CNA Classes 3 to 5 years within the past 5 years.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and updating of all new material of home caregiving/dementia content.

  • Work with the Center on Aging Staff to implement education, support, and social programs for professionals, paraprofessionals, and community members.

  • Participate in the promotion of the program.

  • Participate in implementing strategies for maintaining program viability.

  • Serve as an instructor for the Caregiver Training program.

  • Assure that adult learning principles are incorporated into all educational lesson plans.

  • Develop continuing education materials as assigned.

  • Identify sustainability options.

  • Willingness to create and establish new programs to assist caregivers and people living with dementia.

  • Gather required data forms for each class and/or program to include in the program file and enter the Centers on Aging in the state-wide database.

  • Document activities and submit reports to the Director/Education Assistant Director and others, upon request.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
