The GSMA Brand and Content Strategy team comprises diverse expertise in Editorial, Branding, Social Media, Video Production, Design, and Strategic functions, like Content, Email and Data. Combining creative minds and strategic communicators, these teams craft compelling content for diverse audiences, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand identity and narrative across multiple touchpoints.

Our Social Media team members are responsible for implementing social media activity across the GSMA, managing a broad range of social media platforms. With a small number of social experts, it is expected that everyone takes on all aspects of social media management as needed. The team manages both organic and paid social media campaigns for different parts of the organisation, supporting our Global MWC and M360 event series and GSMA programme marketing.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Paid Media Consultant with a deep understanding of digital advertising platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in campaign creation, management, and optimisation across paid media channels such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, programmatic platforms, and paid social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). This role requires hands-on experience within these platforms, ensuring that campaigns are effectively built, optimised, and scaled to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Creation & Management:
•    Develop, execute, and manage campaigns across Google Ads, Bing Ads, programmatic platforms, and paid social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
•    Work directly within each platform to set up campaigns, ad groups, targeting, and creative assets to ensure optimal delivery.
•    Optimise campaigns regularly based on performance metrics such as click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and return on ad spend (ROAS).

Ad Platform Expertise:
•    Provide deep technical expertise on ad platform functionalities, staying current on platform updates, betas, and new features to maximise performance.
•    Troubleshoot platform issues and manage platform-specific tactics like bid strategies, audience segmentation, and budget pacing.
Collaboration & Strategic Guidance:
•    Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that paid media efforts align with overall marketing strategies.
•    Provide strategic guidance on media mix, budget allocation, and channel prioritisation based on campaign objectives and past performance.
Creative Asset Integration:
•    Work closely with the creative and content teams to ensure ad assets (text, images, videos) are optimised for the respective platforms and formats.
•    Ensure ad copy and creatives resonate with target audiences while adhering to platform best practices and policies.
Ongoing Performance Optimisation:
•    Continuously analyse and fine-tune campaigns, leveraging in-platform data to make real-time adjustments for performance improvements.
•    Implement A/B testing to improve ad copy, targeting, and creative performance across platforms.
Paid Media Trends & Innovation:
•    Stay updated on the latest trends in paid media and proactively recommend new channels, strategies, or tools that could enhance campaign outcomes.
•    Experiment with innovative ad formats and strategies to keep campaigns cutting-edge and effective.

About You

You are a proactive and experienced digital marketer with a passion for paid media. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are highly skilled in managing campaigns across a variety of ad platforms. Key qualifications and attributes include:

•    Proven hands-on experience in managing paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, programmatic, and paid social (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
•    In-depth knowledge of ad platform features, including targeting options, bidding strategies, ad formats, and audience segmentation.
•    Strong optimisation skills with a focus on improving performance metrics such as CTR, conversion rates, and ROAS.
•    Excellent problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting platform-related issues and making real-time adjustments to campaigns.
•    Experience in collaborating with creative and content teams to ensure that ad assets are tailored to the platform’s requirements and audience preferences.
•    Ability to think strategically about paid media campaigns, from budgeting and media mix to aligning with overall marketing goals.
•    Up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends, tools, and strategies in paid media, with a willingness to experiment and innovate.
